• Librarian
Responsibilities
- Oversee the provision of reference services, collection development, library instruction programs and other user services to students, faculty and the university community at large
- Facilitate information literacy and student success
- Develop and implement programs to enhance library utilization and resources
- Oversee operational management of all aspects of library
- Represent the library to University units, and other organizations
- Manage the library's resources, including developing plans for the allocation and reallocation of resources
- Promote collegial and participatory interactions and foster communication among library units, and between the library and other university units
- Contribute to the goals and direction of Library
Skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience in academic library practices and procedures, including instructional and information technologies
- Knowledge of trends in academic libraries and the use of Web authoring tools
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, supervisory and team building skills
- Strong decision making and public relations skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

• Assistant Librarian
Responsibilities
- Perform basic tasks in the areas of cataloguing, acquisitions, circulation, reference, data entry for library books and stock management
- Perform, post, search, verify, file and maintain a variety of manual and electronic records required for ordering, receiving and circulation of library materials
- Managing the library Circulation Counter
- Issue, display, duplicate, renew and receive materials at Circulation Counter as required
- Perform routine library assignments involved in searching records for catalogue copy, preparing bibliographies and book list and maintaining card catalogue and book shelves
- Coordinate student and faculty textbook requirements with the academic departments
- Assist in other daily operation of library and E-learning center
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is preferable also)
- Strong organizational and planning skills

- Knowledge about Library Management Systems
- Strong analytical and technical computer skills (MS office suite)
