The position leads the planning, development and support of the Library system (III), online database access and websites. Working within the Learning Resource Centre this position ensures the Library systems is developed and maintained to enable easy use and access by HCT students and staff. As web master this position develops, maintains and enhances the web presence for the Learning Resource Centre ensuring resource accessibility, functionality and reliability for the HCT system.
Requirements
* Masters Library Science (MLS/MSLIS or equivalent degree)
* High level of computer literacy and strong information technology skills
* Three years library technology experience required including administering and providing support for an integrated library systems (III Millennium experience preferred)
* Experience in DBA functions for integrated library software systems
* Experience with open URL linking
* Working knowledge of existing and emerging web technologies, standards, XHTML, Javascript, XML, CSS, and web publishing software (Dreamweaver or equivalent).
* Working knowledge of a programming language e.g. PERL, Ruby.
