The incumbent will assist the Systems Librarian in the overall
management of University’s library and learning resources technology and
systems. Specific responsibilities will include:
Assisting in management of integrated library system;
Assisting in updating AKU library’s web pages and content using MS SharePoint;
Extracting and importing data in integrated library system in a professional manner;
Contributing in Online Public Access Catalogue enhancement;
Generating and preparing system reports.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
A Master's degree in Library Sciences / Information Sciences with Bachelor’s in Computer Science or vice versa, from an accredited institution; a relevant, equivalent combination of training and experience will also be considered;
Minimum three years of experience in a leading educational or research institute;
Expertise in Microsoft applications including HTML, XML, SQL;
Knowledge of state-of-the-art web based information management technologies;
Good understanding of international library systems and standards;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Good organizational and analytical skills.
