Master degree (Foreign) or M.Phil or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education as determined by HEC in the subject from an HEC recognized university / institution with 4 years teaching / research or professional experience in a recognized university of post graduate institution in a national or internationl organization
OR
Master degree (first class) in subject with no 3rd division in the academic career from an HEC recognized university / institution with 6 years teaching / research or professional experience in a recognized university or post graduate institution in a national or international organization
Lecturer - BS-18
Library & Information Science
First class Master degree or equivalent degree awarded after 16 years of education in the subject from HEC recognized university with no 3rd division in academic career
appointment as lecturer in university or degree awarding institions provided that the candidate holds a higher degree viz. M.Phil/PhD or equivalent degree with not more than one 3rd division in entire academic career.
Furthermore, candidate with 2nd division in Master's degree but holding higher degree i.e., M.Phil / PhD or equivalent degree with 18 years of education may be considered.
Note:
1) All those applying for the post of Assistant Professor or Lecturer (excluding in-service regular teachers of the University & Such candidates holding PhD degree in the Subject) are required to appear in NTS Test. Only short listed candidates will be called for interview and presentation before the selection board.
2) Basic degree in Pharmacy i.e. B.Pharm or Pharm-D is required to apply for any post in any of the Departments in the faculty of Pharmacy. However, this condition does not apply to those who are already in service in the faculty of Pharmacy, university of Karachi.
3) Basic Degree in Chemical Engineering i.e. (B.E/BS) and Pakistan Engineering of Chemical Engineering.
Application Procedure
(i) Applications are required to be submitted on prescribed forms, obtainable from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Establishment, Teaching), University of Karachi on Payment of Rs.500/- through pay Order in favour of university of Karachi.
(ii) Six copies of application forms together with a pay Order of Rs,1200/- in favour of University of Karachi, for the post of Professor & Associate Professor and Four Copies of Application forms for the post of Assistant Professor & Lecturer, Photocopy of Marks certificates, degrees/diplomas/certificates experience certificates and reprints of Publications, if any, must reach the registrar, University of Karachi, University Road, Karachi-75270, Pakistan on or before 8thOctober 2012. The last date for receipt of applications in case of Pakistani Nationals serving / residing abroad is 22nd October 2012.
(iii) Candidates already in Government, Semi-Government and Autonomous Organizations in Pakistan Must apply through proper channel.
(iv) Candidates requesting application forms by Post Must send a pay Order of Rs.600/- within Pakistan and Rs.1500/- or equivalent from outside Pakistan drawn in favor of University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan along with their request.
(v) Those applying for the post of Lecturer / Assistant Professor must enclose three attested passport size photographs along with their applications.
(vi) The number of posts shall be considered according to the available position at the time of selection. The University resumes the right to cancel any post advertised above without assigning any reason.
