Job Description

Qualifications & Experience:
MLSc/MLISc at least 1st Div OR minimum 3:00 CGPA + 15 years' work experience OR M.PHIL + 13 years' work experience OR Ph.D + 10 year's experience in a library of National/International repute.

Terms & Conditions:
a) General age relaxation of maximum five (5) years in upper age limit as per Government of the Punjab, S&GAD circular letter No. SOR-I (S&GAD) 9-36/8 1 dated 04-11-2006.

Job Description:
Use the library automated software programme to manage circulation of all resources in TRC.
Classify library resources according to Dewey Decimal Classification System – DDC.
Shelf library resources and maintain tide library shelves.
Conduct an annual stocktaking.
Mend damaged resources using the correct materials at all time.
Manage day – to - day running of the TRC.
Receive books fines.
Promote resources across the network among teachers and staff.
Help in Preparing book orders.
Create displays to promote library sources and services.
Adopt security measures to take care of the library material.
Deal with information enquires from customers.
Keep track and send overdue notices and fine forms for lost/damaged books to teachers and staff.
Assist in compiling book order lists.
Supervise TRC and maintain library atmosphere, rules and regulations on an ongoing basis.
Travel in Central Region to assess school libraries.
Cooperate with regional librarians.
Perform any other services related to library as requested by NLC.
